FAQ
Good questions, direct answers.
AI-SIM is a clinical education platform built for the USF genetic counseling program. Students practice patient encounters by chatting with AI-powered simulated patients; instructors create scenarios, assign them to classes, and review student transcripts with grading tools.
After signing up, go to your student dashboard and click "Join a class." Enter the class code your instructor provided. Once enrolled, you'll see assigned patient encounters on your dashboard.
On the login page, click "Instructor → Request access." Fill out the short form and submit. An administrator will review your request and send a confirmation email with your login credentials.
You'll be asked to complete a brief self-reflection (a few Likert scale questions and a short response). Once you submit, your instructor's grade and written feedback will be unlocked. If your class allows multiple attempts, you can try again.
It depends on the settings your instructor chose for that assignment. If multiple attempts are allowed, you'll see a "Try again" option on the feedback page. Your final grade will reflect either your best attempt or most recent attempt, per your instructor's grading mode.
Email the platform team directly from the Support page. For urgent issues during a class session, contact your instructor — they can flag the issue for the admin team.
